Koite Health is strengthening its position in Sweden and international markets with a new CEO, expanded pharmacy partnerships, and a new growth strategy.
The company's patented Lumoral® innovation, designed to prevent oral and gum disease, is now expanding its distribution to the Swedish state-owned Apoteket AB's product range, after the product has already established itself in the Apotek Hjärtat pharmacy chain.
Peter Rådqvist appointed as CEO
Peter Rådqvist, who has over 30 years of experience in the dental implant and health technology sectors, has been appointed as the new CEO of Koite Health. He has held management positions at Nobel Biocare, Straumann, Zimmer Biomet, and Bactiguard AB, among others.
During his career, Rådqvist has been responsible for opening up several new markets, developing business areas, and building long-term partnerships in the dental and health technology sectors. He has also completed the Executive Program in Artificial Intelligence in Medicine at Harvard Medical School.
“After many years of experience in the fields of medical technology and dentistry, I see Lumoral as a natural step towards more preventive and patient-centered care. New, effective, and gentle methods are needed to reduce infections. Lumoral has a clear role to play in this development," says Peter Rådqvist, CEO of Koite Health.
Antibacterial light therapy is the future of oral health
Lumoral® is a unique, non-invasive light-based treatment method for home use. The device consists of a mouthpiece with built-in dual light technology. Together with a light-activated compound, the device destroys harmful bacteria in the mouth without disturbing the natural microbiome. The result is healthier gums and a lower risk of infection.
“Oral health is an essential part of overall well-being and is linked to more than 200 diseases, including cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, and rheumatoid arthritis. Lumoral takes preventive oral care to a new level – the technology eliminates up to 99.998% of harmful bacteria and significantly improves plaque removal. Traditional electric toothbrushes remove up to about 65% of plaque, which makes Lumoral a truly unique solution on the market," says Rådqvist.
Expanded distribution through Sweden's leading pharmacy chains
Lumoral was launched on October 22 in Apoteket AB's online store, and from February 2026, the product will also be available in approximately 60 Apoteket physical stores. Together with Apotek Hjärtat, Lumoral now reaches consumers through Sweden's two largest pharmacy chains, reaching over 10 million Swedes.
Koite Health continues its strong growth in the Nordic countries and Europe, where demand for preventive and patient-centered care solutions is growing rapidly in both the medical and dental fields. The company also holds a patent in the United States for technology combating antibiotic resistance.
