Major Science Journal Applauds Finnish Invention: Antibacterial Lumoral Revolutionizes Dental Implant Care

The popularity of dental implants has increased globally, but ensuring their longevity requires meticulous and regular oral hygiene. This challenge has led to the introduction of a new Finnish invention, Lumoral, which has been recognized by the esteemed British scientific journal, British Dental Journal (Springer Nature), as a significant innovation in maintaining implant health.

Dental implants require more attention than natural teeth. Swedish specialist dentist Leif Björn explains:

Controlling biofilm, a bacterial layer formed by microbes, plays a central role in implant health. While daily brushing and flossing are essential, they are not enough to fully eliminate biofilm. Studies show that even the best electric toothbrushes only remove about 65% of plaque, leaving behind a bacterial layer that promotes inflammation and disease.

Finnish Innovation Lumoral – A New Standard in Oral Hygiene

This is where the Finnish innovation Lumoral comes into play. Lumoral is an advanced, CE-marked medical device that uses antibacterial light-activated treatment before brushing. This method significantly reduces biofilm, especially in hard-to-reach areas like deep gum pockets and around implants.
